Appointments can sometimes be made on the same day. Typically, there will be availability within the next 2-3 days. For New Patient appointments or evening appointments, the wait can be slightly longer due to demand, however, we will always do our best to fit you in as soon as possible at a time that suits you. Total cost for treatment is dependant on many factors, but essentially if you are able to engage well with recommendations provided you will have less need for appointments so total cost will be less.

Yes. It is part of our duty of care to ensure that you are properly assessed by the Chiropractor prior to any treatment, even if you have been assessed by a different chiropractor.

The initial consult is a 1 hour appointment aimed at finding out what your concerns are through a combination of appropriate questions and movement tests. After this, your chiropractor will explain the findings and recommend options for getting to a solution, including further tests if necessary. If you already have any previous x-ray or MRI films/CDs then it is recommended for you to bring them with you as well as a list of any medication you are taking. Any previous scans or notes that you do not have access to can be requested on your behalf if needed.

Initial consultation and any return appointments typically require significant movement; We recommend you wear shorts and a sleeveless top if possible. This allows easy assessment and treatment of body movement while maintaining your comfort. Changing facilities are available and gowns can be provided if you prefer.

No referral is required. Although we are more than happy to work with other health professionals wherever it is in your interest to do so, Chiropractors are trained and regulated as primary contact practitioners. It is your choice to come for an assessment and to follow the recommendations made in the interest of your health.

All three professions are regulated requiring degree level qualifications and ongoing professional development. Chiropractors, Physiotherapists and Osteopaths work within a similar scope of practice of musculoskeletal healthcare unless the individual therapist has specific post-graduate qualifications or experience. Make sure whichever professional you go to see is primarily interested in getting you the results that you want and need in a timely and effective manner, this includes referring you to another qualified healthcare professional wherever appropriate. Your Chiropractor will adapt their techniques and advice to best suit you, whatever your age or physical condition. This also includes adapting advice for pregnancies and medical conditions. Light touch techniques can be used for the treatment of babies and toddlers. This would be different for an elderly person and very different techniques again would be needed for a rugby player.
